Privacy policy.

In one sentence: we collect nothing, and your conversations never leave your iPhone.

The app

• Your conversations are processed on your iPhone and are never sent to a server.
• By default, they are not written to the device: they exist only in memory and disappear when you close the app, and at the latest after a delay you can change in Settings (one hour by default, from immediate erasure to 24 hours).
• If you tap “Keep”, the conversation is encrypted on your iPhone, excluded from backups and, if you turn it on, protected by Face ID (or the iPhone passcode). It is never sent to us.
• No account, no usage statistics, no audience measurement or advertising tools.
• “DontKeep Pro” purchase: the transaction is handled by the App Store, under Apple’s privacy policy. The app checks the entitlement on your iPhone, with no account and no server. We receive sales reports from Apple, which do not identify you.
• The only connection the app makes is downloading models from Hugging Face, when you ask for it. As with any download, Hugging Face receives the device’s IP address.
• Dictation: your voice is transcribed on your iPhone, by Apple’s on-device speech recognition (iOS 26) or by the model. No audio recording is created or sent. The first time, iOS downloads the speech recognition model for your language from Apple’s servers: a model file, not your voice.

This website

• No cookies, no trackers, no fonts or scripts loaded from another site.
• The server hosting this site may keep technical logs (IP address, requested page) for security purposes. They are not used for anything else.

What iOS records

iOS records on its own that the app is installed and has been opened (Screen Time, battery), as well as the amount of data used. No app can prevent this. We would rather tell you.

Erasing everything

The trash button erases the current conversation and the model’s working memory, immediately and without confirmation. For kept conversations, a swipe on the conversation deletes it. Deleting the app also removes the downloaded models and kept conversations.

Your rights

The GDPR gives you the right of access, rectification, erasure and portability. Since we receive and store no data about you, we have nothing to send you or delete: everything is on your iPhone, under your sole control. You can write to us at any time to discuss it.

Children

DontKeep is not intended for children and asks them for no information. Answers are produced by a language model and may be inaccurate or inappropriate: supervision is recommended for minors.

Changes

If this policy changes, the update date above changes with it. No change can retroactively make collectable data we have never received.
